We recently completed a proposal to upgrade the front of house areas at the Rose Theatre Kingston. Our design team worked closely with the chief executive, artistic director, and theatre management team to look at ways of improving circulation, access and acoustics whilst creating additional revenue generating spaces.
Two new access lobbies were constructed within the auditorium volume, freeing up areas for the front of house commercial offer. The area between the access lobbies was converted into a step free ‘box’ area which provides an advantageous view of the stage for wheelchair users and their companions.
A soft strip out of the front of house areas facilitated the extension of the Rose Café bar, which now greets patrons arriving from the Wadbrook Street entrance.
