Ian Ritchie’s will lecture at the RA Schools on 15th November at 11.00 am.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this remarkable glass building - the largest in the world - The Royal Academy is publishing this November, a boxed limited edition of 250 (signed copies) of all the key construction drawings prepared by the specialist contractors on special folded paper, and a colour illustrated text describing the background and the construction details.
RSC Courtyard Theatre, published by Categorical Books, is 14cm x 14cm, has 96 pages, a historical synopsis of theatre with a perspective upon Shakespearean theatre and, technical developments in theatre and a full description of the concept, design process and procurement of this radical new theatre in Stratford upon Avon seating more than a thousand around a large thrust stage. Ian Ritchie will deliver the annual Finnish Constructional Steelwork Association lecture on 5th October.

On July 7th The RSC’s production first part of the Henry VI trilogy, directed by Michael Boyd, opened in the acclaimed Courtyard Theatre.
There has been universal praise from public and actors to the new venue, which has been built in only 11 months, and on time.
