The planning application has been submitted on behalf of the Royal Academy of Music for the transformation of its opera-theatre and for a new roof top recital hall.

Royal Docks London
Ian Ritchie Architects have won the RoDMA – LDA competition to work alongside Aspire and Marina Projects to create the Royal Docks Development Strategy. The three docks collectively form the largest enclosed docks in the world, with a water area of nearly 100 hectares and an overall estate of 450 hectares. Placed over central London the water area stretches at least from Oxford Circus to Bank. It acquired Special Enterprise Zone status in 2011.

RIBA Pylon Design Competition shortlist

Silhouette by Ian Ritchie Architects, along with Jane Wernick Associates, engineers, and Ann Christopher, Sculptor, are one of six finalists shortlisted for the National Grid Pylon Competition. The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) ran the competition in partnership with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

RIAI Awards 2011 North House

North House has won an Irish Architecture Award in the ‘Best Conservation / Restoration Project’ category. Thanks to an admirable client and accomplished consultants at WSP and King Shaw Associates. An exhibition displaying all winning projects is currently on view in the Atrium at Dublin City Council.

Sainsbury Wellcome Centre at UCL

Plans to build a new neuroscience research centre have been approved by London Borough of Camden, subject to referral to the Mayor. The new building, known as the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, will be built on the corner of Howland Street and Charlotte Street. Members of Camden’s Development Control Committee voted overwhelmingly in favour of the project at a meeting on 21.07.2011. The Sainsbury Wellcome Centre represents a joint venture between the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and the Wellcome Trust to establish a new Research Centre in Neural Circuits and Behaviour at University College London.

Soho Theatre
We have received a new commission from the Soho Theatre where Steve Marmion is the new Artistic Director.
