The GLA's LDA were planning to present at MIPIM on March 7th RoDMA’s strategic development proposals for the Royal Docks. These were prepared by Ian Ritchie Architects with Marina Projects.

The Soho Theatre Gala raised £100k on March 8th. The guests included Sir Tim Rice, Tim Mitchin writer of the Matilda Musical and Jeremy Clarkson.

The demolition of the Windeyer Building is now complete and site enabling works are being carried out in preparation for the construction of the new Sainsbury Wellcome Centre in Howland Street.

The Royal Academy of Music project of a transformed theatre and a new recital hall was granted planning permission and listed building consent by the Westminster City Council on 23rd of February – at the first attempt. The application was fully supported by the planning and heritage officers. The consultants working with us include WSP, King Shaw Associates, Fischer Dachs Associates, Arup Acoustics, EQ2 light and Equals.

Ian Ritchie is giving a lecture ‘Innovation in Architecture’ on Monday 13 February at 6pm.

Ian Ritchie Architects have begun working on a cultural centre, 'Project Boswell', which will help revitalise the economy of a small community of 120 people on Raasay - an island covering 6,231 hectares just off Skye. It will be a visitor attraction as well as provide local social and employment benefits. The feasibility study will be completed in April 2012 and the cultural centre should open before the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

The planning application has been submitted on behalf of the Royal Academy of Music for the transformation of its opera-theatre and for a new roof top recital hall.

Ian Ritchie Architects have won the RoDMA – LDA competition to work alongside Aspire and Marina Projects to create the Royal Docks Development Strategy. The three docks collectively form the largest enclosed docks in the world, with a water area of nearly 100 hectares and an overall estate of 450 hectares. Placed over central London the water area stretches at least from Oxford Circus to Bank. It acquired Special Enterprise Zone status in 2011.

Ian Ritchie Architects are finalists for this year's FX Awards FX Awards in the lighting and office furniture categories.
