Royal Docks, London
The GLA Mayor, Boris Johnson presented the Royal Docks floating village concept at MIPIM. The concept, by Ian Ritchie Architects was developed for the LDA and RoDMA as a strategic development proposal for the Royal Docks. It was endorsed last year by the RoDMA board which includes all the major stakeholders in the area, including the LDA.

Traces of Peter Rice
Peter Rice is considered to be Ireland’s greatest ever engineer, and a recently published book, Traces of Peter Rice, edited by Kevin Barry, explores his legacy. This book, along with the life and work of Peter Rice, will be discussed on Ireland’s national radio, RTÉ's Arts Tonight at 10pm on the 25th February.

The Spire of Dublin is 10 Years Old
The Spire of Dublin was erected in the centre of Dublin's O'Connell Street on 21 January 2003. Ian Ritchie was interviewed for RTÉ’s Morning Ireland radio programme (Ireland’s flagship news and Current Affairs programme), to mark the occasion. The interview is expected to air on Monday 25 February 2013 and will be available to stream here.

Joss Searchlight (Reg. Charity 1141704) has been formed to provide practical co-ordinated support for families of children suffering from brain tumours. This is the first major event for Joss Searchlight and features the works of over 100 contemporary artists

The Glass Supper
Ian Ritchie gave a keynote talk on the future of glass at the GLA City Hall, London, 7th December. to an invited international audience of leading glass manufacturers, processors, engineers and architects. The talk was entitled: ‘Looking at Glass through the eyes of Vitruvius’ and themed on glass entropy – resisting time’s impact on physical systems and the ephemeral qualities of architecture.

King’s Cross Canopy
Ian Ritchie Architects submitted a design to Argent for a new canopy in the proposed Cubitt Square, part of their King’s Cross regeneration. A further six teams were invited: Amanda Levete Architects, Asif Khan, Carmody Groarke Duggan Morris Architects, Jamie Fobert, and Niall McLaughlin.
