We are delighted to be one of eight practices selected from the Regenerative Architecture Index for the Hummingbird Learning Lab longlist to design a demountable learning space in Bruton, Somerset, that reflects Hummingbird’s neuroscience-grounded approach to education and community engagement.
ritchie*studio’s team includes Dr Elena Dreosti, a neuroscientist and educator who is a leading advocate for hands-on, first-principles STEM education. As co-founder of No Black Boxes, she develops neuroscience-informed programmes that teach technology from the ground up, helping young people build intuition, confidence and agency.
The rate of technological change requires a fundamental rethink of what, how and where children learn. This underlies Hummingbird’s agenda which is to meet future challenges through holistic education which fulfils mental, emotional and social potential.
