Congratulations to Cyril Jackson Primary School year 4 students who were shortlisted for the model-making prize at the Open City Young City Makers celebration event at Central Hall in Westminster on the 29th June.
As the school’s partner for a third year, ritchie*studio led a visit to the Olympic Park and two in-school interactive design workshops in April and June. This year the Young City Makers responded to ‘real-world-briefs’ with students from Cyril Jackson Primary School designing Modular Classrooms; in their own words ‘A Blue Sky School!’
The Young City Makers developed indoor and outdoor creative spaces collaboratively to stimulate and inspire a wide range of users – animals, sports-focused, art and play spaces, nature rooms with trampolines and treehouses; and circulation facilitated by ziplines, swings and teleportation bracelets. Fun and inclusive they brought together educational, environmental, social, and cultural activities to enhance their school community.
