Crystal Palace Concert Platform – Meet the Innovator

The Crystal Palace Park Trust has invited Ian to lead a tour of the Concert Platform for the London Festival of Architecture.

The design for a permanent concert platform in Corten steel in London’s Crystal Palace Park was realised in 1997 and is sculptural without being sculpture, bold architecture yet reinforcing the surrounding rich and beautiful Paxton landscape. Nevertheless, its simplicity belies the complex acoustic performance required of it.
